Hello: I have a question maybe you can answer it, please. Regarding Walgreens…I’ve gone to this certain Walgreens twice and had problems there each time. One time they told me that they could only accept one Register Rewards ticket for each purchase. Not a combination of denominations to pay for the purchase only one single ticket/coupon. Our favorite Walgreens dosen’t do that…I called the head office and got nowhere…what do you think on my problem #1?
Problem #2: We went to Walgreens yesterday and bought
the contour and Breeze 2 blood sugar monitors and used coupons which made them free and one alkaseltzer plus cold med. and used a 75cent off coupon and they would not give us the 3$ register reward that comes with that deal???? They said because we used the coupon which makes the monitors free we don’t get the register rewards! That eliminates the “money maker” scenario, then dosen’t it? Can this be right? What is your opinion on this please? Also, I read a register rewards statement on policy (on the register rewards ticket) and it dosent say anything like what I just described…I plan on calling the company tomorrow. I’d like to know your experience on this please. Thanks alot. Jeanine

    Hello Jeanine,
Problem #1- I have been told by the Walgreen’s Customer Service Hotline that Rollover bucks count as manufacturer’s coupons, so- since their coupon policy is one manufacturer’s coupon and one Walgreen’s coupon per item, there are times I will have to chose between another manufacturer’s coupon and the rollover. Usually, if this is the case, I will chose the lowest value coupon (like .25 cents off or whatever) and use the rollover instead. Does that make sense?
Problem #2- Coupons should not effect the printing of register rewards; however, one Walgreen’s that I went to told me the same thing. I called the customer service hotline and they told me that they would issue a gift card for the rollover amount if I took my receipt to a different location. I think certain locations occasionally make up their own rules along with certain employees being more “coupon friendly” than others. I just make sure to praise and be extra kind to the coupon friendly stores/employees and goodness knows if I ever have to pay full price for something that I don’t have a coupon for, I will pick the coupon friendly stores to do business with every time.
